Our History

Dr Frederick Mmieh is the Senior Pastor of Maranatha Ministries. The Holy Spirit directed him to start Maranatha Ministries in October 1990. The Ministry started as a House Group Prayer Fellowship with eleven members. This fellowship was known as Christian Prayer Fellowship International (CPFI).

Dr & Mrs Frederik MmiehCPFI meetings were held on a rotational basis in the homes of members. Members were taught the word of God, we prayed together and shared practical fellowship by breaking bread. The fellowship began its meetings at the Knights Youth Centre in Streatham Place in early October 1990 with eight members.

In 1991, the Lord directed our senior Pastor to change the name of the fellowship to its current name, Maranatha Ministries. In October 1991 Maranatha Ministries held its first evangelistic crusade at the Clapham Youth Centre and the Lord graciously added new members to the ministry. Maranatha Ministries was registered as a Charity with full charitable status in 1996 and also became affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance and the International Ministerial Council of Great Britain.

Since its inception, we have seen the Lord performed uncommon miracles in the ministry. Cocaine addicts, drunkards and many different diseases have been miraculously healed by the hand of the Lord to which we are so grateful.
